Kayla Ahki (McAlister) was a member of the New Zealand women's rugby sevens team which won silver at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The team beat Great Britain convincingly in its semi -inal but was unable to match Australia in the final, with their rivals overwhelming them in a 24-17 win. 

The Mystics netball convert comes from great rugby stock, and like her brother former All Black Luke, Kayla Ahki has an impressive step and pace that has seen her outwit many an opposition defence.

She only came to rugby in 2012 where she quickly excelled, being a key member of the team that won the inaugural World Series title and Rugby World Cup 2013 title She went on to be named the 2013 international Women's Sevens Player of the Year.
