Sam Gaze is a three-time Commonwealth Games medallist, having won gold at Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022, as well as silver at Glasgow 2014.

Gaze is one of the sport's most exciting riders, winning back-to-back Rainbow Jerseys for Under-23. In Birmingham Gaze dominated the race from start to finish to win gold by a huge margin. Four years earlier on the Gold Coast Gaze produced a massive burst after a puncture on the final lap to win gold over teammate Anton Cooper.

Much of his build-up to Birmingham was plagued with injury and illness, but the Alpecin-Fenix professional showed he was returning to his best with a win in the short track race at a recent European World Cup.
