Biography

Auckland based swimmer, Carina Doyle will join the New Zealand Swimming Tokyo 2020 Olympic team, to swim in the Women’s 4 x 200m Freestyle relay, with this being her first Olympic Games.

Carina has been selected for the Women’s 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay after achieving a FINA B time in the 200m Freestyle event at the 2021 New Zealand Swimming Championships. The freestyle swimmer was part of the team who secured the quota spot at the 2019 FINA World Championships, when she swam with the Women’s 4 x 200m Freestyle Relay. The team finished 10th overall.

Carina is an experienced athlete, having competed at several international competitions. After claiming 2 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medal at the 2016 Oceania Championships, she then went onto compete at the 2017 World University Games, the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where she was a finalist in the 400m Freestyle and then the 2019 World Championships.

Outside of competitive swimming, Carina is part of the high-performance squad for Surf Life Saving New Zealand and has competed internationally.
