Biography

EVENTS: Track Cycling: Women's Team Pursuit and Individual Sprint

James began her sporting life in rowing but changed codes in 2012 and immediately became enthused with track cycling.

Following a shift to Invercargill from Dunedin, she prospered, and was carded to the national programme in her second year.

James' goal has always been to compete at the Olympic Games and she has been on a steady progression in recent years, winning the national title in individual pursuit on several occasions, and being part of the women's team pursuit medals at the World Championships in 2017 and 2019, along with the silver medal win at the Commonwealth Games in 2018.
