The New Zealand Olympic Committee has appointed The Business of Sport to lead its licensing and merchandising efforts ahead of the upcoming Olympic Games.

The relationship will see The Business of Sport work with retailers and official licensees to create New Zealand Team branded products and merchandise, with the proceeds helping fund the New Zealand Team to Paris 2024.

“The opportunity to work with the iconic New Zealand Fern alongside the most recognisable of sporting brands in the Olympic Rings is a true privilege,” said The Business of Sport Director Jon Clarke.

“New Zealand athletes have the power to inspire, entertain and transform lives through their endeavours whilst representing their country. We look forward to seeing Kiwis from the Cape to the Bluff getting behind the New Zealand Team and showing their support whilst they do the country proud up against the world's best on the global stage.”

NZOC Commercial Director Sharon van Gulik says the organisation is thrilled to partner with The Business of Sport.

“This partnership will elevate the opportunity for New Zealanders to show their support and stand behind our athletes as they work towards Paris 2024 and beyond,” said van Gulik.

New Zealanders have a deep love of sport with millions following the Olympic and Commonwealth Games and cheering on the New Zealand Team. The New Zealand Team licensing programme will encompass a rich assortment of assets, including the Rings and Fern, the iconic Goldie mascot, along with official phrases and marks.

Licensing opportunities are now open for discussion across a variety of categories including apparel, fashion accessories, sporting goods, toys and food & beverage.
