Supporting our top athletes as they compete internationally and inspire the next generation
Supporting our top athletes as they compete internationally and inspire the next generation
ASB is teaming up with the New Zealand Olympic Committee to support The NZ Team and inspire more young New Zealanders through sport. Through a new long-term partnership, ASB will provide direct support to New Zealand Team athletes as they prepare for and compete at pinnacle international events, while also helping to grow the NZOC Olympic Education Programme, which connects students with the values and stories of New Zealand's Olympians and Commonwealth Games athletes.
With the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games only weeks away, NZOC Chief Executive Officer Nicki Nicol welcomed ASB to the NZOC’s Premium Partner whānau. The partnership will support the New Zealand Team through to Brisbane 2032, helping athletes pursue excellence on the world stage while inspiring future generations through education, ambition and achievement.
The partnership will inspire the next generation of New Zealanders through the power of sport and education. Through ASB's support of the NZOC Olympic Education Programme, students across the country will have greater opportunities to connect with New Zealand Team athletes and learn valuable lessons about goal setting, resilience, preparation and perseverance.
The partnership builds on the unique ability of the New Zealand Team to inspire pride and ambition beyond the sporting arena. By bringing athlete stories and Olympic values into classrooms and communities, ASB and NZOC aim to help young New Zealanders develop confidence, leadership skills and a belief in what they can achieve.
As the New Zealand Team prepares for future Commonwealth, Olympic and Youth Olympic Games campaigns through to Brisbane 2032, the partnership will support both athlete success on the world stage and programmes that create meaningful learning opportunities for students here at home.
