Nicole Bradley

Biography

EVENT: Athletics: Women's Hammer Throw

Nicole Bradley made her Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham after winning selection to compete in the women’s hammer.

A five-time senior national champion, the Auckland-based athlete threatened to walk away from the sport after a disappointing 2021 season. However, realising she missed the buzz of throwing she returned for the 2021-22 campaign.

Coached by Mike Schofield she has come back stronger than ever. In December 2021 at AUT Millennium she became the third New Zealand woman in history to throw beyond 70m in the hammer.

The Dunedin-raised radiographer improved her personal best to 70.45m when winning silver behind Lauren Bruce at the New Zealand Championships in Hastings.
