Shaun Van Rooyen

Narrowly missing a place in the Junior All Whites for the FIFA U-20 World Cup only served to spur the workaholic Waikato midfielder to make his coach's next selection choice an easier one. Rewarded with a place in the squad for Olympic qualification he responded in Fiji with some of the U-23s best performances. While especially effective at linking play with a tidy passing game, the diminutive Shaun doesn't shy away from the hard work, winning plenty of ball in the midfield.
