Dallas Seymour

Dallas began his involvement in sport as a young player with Tokoroa Pirates RFC, rising to national and international acclaim in rugby as an All Black and a Commonwealth Games Gold medalist.

Beyond his athletic career, Dallas transitioned into sport governance and management, serving on the New Zealand Olympic Committee Athlete’s Commission from 1998 to 2009 and contributing to the management teams for the Commonwealth and Olympic Games in Melbourne, Beijing, and Singapore. 

He has extensive experience in sport management through his roles at Sport New Zealand from 2002 to 2014 and currently works with Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Dallas’s governance roles include serving on the boards of the First Foundation, He Waka Tapu, Tainui Kāwhia Incorporation, and Tātai Whetū Waitaha. He is also the Chair of Te Urunga Tū, the Māori Cultural partner of the NZOC, where he brings his Ngāti Hikairo heritage and a deep connection to his whakapapa in Kāwhia.
