First time Olympian Ruby Star Andrews was welcomed to the NZ Team tonight alongside her fellow Freeski athletes.
For Andrews it’s been a race against the clock to get back healthy after dislocating her hip.
“It’s been probably the craziest three months of my life,“ she said
“I’m really happy to be here because I’ve worked really hard over the past few months to make it here in time. I’m proud of myself and grateful to the team I have around me to get me here happy, healthy and ready to rip!”
Andrews said tonight’s Pou Tangata haka was a “beautiful” way to be welcomed to the NZ Team.
“I’m really stoked to be here, being a true blue Kiwi it’s really special to represent New Zealand and wear the fern,” she said.
