Ryan Fox returned to some of his best form in the men’s golf today.
The Aucklander opened the tournament with an impressive 67, but had a less memorable two over par 73 in the second round to slip well down the leaderboard.
Fox, 37, fought back well today. On the front nine he had three birdies and one bogey and he had birdies at 10 and 12 on the back nine, with a bogey on the 17th.
After three rounds, Fox’s total of 208, 5 under par, leaves him in a tie for 27th position.
Daniel Hiller managed to avoid the punishing double bogeys that plagued him over the first two days and shot a one under par 70, with two birdies and a bogey.
The 25-year-old Wellingtonian has now shot 75, 73, 70 to be 5 over par and climbed to a tie for 53rd today.
Spaniard Jon Rahm and defending Olympic champion Xander Schauffele of the US lead the tournament with a 14 under par score of 199.
