Georgia-Rose Brown turned in a series of consistent performances in the artistic gymnastics individual competition.

Brown finished 34th in a field of 60, and narrowly missed a place in the all-round final.

In totalling 51.465 points over the four disciplines, Brown scored 13.666 in her favourite discipline, the uneven bars, 13.233 on the vault, 12.333 on the beam and 12.333 on the floor exercise. She did not qualify for the final in any of the individual disciplines.

The top qualifier was American Simone Biles with a total of 59.566.

Brown, 29, represented Australia throughout her gymnastics career until she received permission last January to represent New Zealand – her mother was born in Palmerston North.
