Divers miss out on final

New Zealand’s two 3m springboard divers bowed out in qualifying today.

Anton Down-Jenkins finished 14th in the qualifying section with a total of 326.70 point. He is a reserve for the final. His team-mate, Liam Stone, was 15th with 325.95m.

The leading qualifier was Philippe Gagne sith 448.40 points.

Stone looked in a position to make the top 12 and qualify for the finals, but muffed his final dive."I had a lot of good stuff in there and was really pleased," he said. "I had a fantastic opportunity and didn't take it. That's sport, and it hurts."
