Farquhar third in World Challenge javelin

New Zealand Javelin thrower Stuart Farquhar has finished third at the IAAF World Challenge event in Kawasaki. Farquhar was well off his personal best with a top throw of 77.35, well off the 86.31 he threw at last weekend's Oda Hiroshima International which was the biggest throw of 2012. The event was won by Roderick Dean of Japan with a throw of 81.43. Farquhar now heads to Brisbane for a week of training. He then returns to his Hamilton base before heading to the United States and Europe for competitions in June. The javelin qualifying round at this year's London Olympics will be on August 8, with the final on August 11.
