Gymnast just misses bronze medal

Ethan Dick went close to grabbing a medal in the artistic gymnastics pommel horse final.

Dick, who turned 22 last week, scored 13.666 for his effort. The event was won by Englishman Joe Fraser, who scored 14.833, but Dick was only 0.34s behind Canadian bronze medallist Jayson Rampersad.

Dick chose one of the routines with the lowest degree of difficulty, but balancing that out, he executed it so well that his overall mark was a good one.

There were eight in the pommel horse final.
