LA28 release Olympic competition schedule
The LA28 Organising Committee has released the full Olympic competition schedule, detailing when and where every medal event will take place across the Los Angeles region.

With Olympic ticket registration opening in January 2026, fans and families can now start planning their ultimate Games experience - from which events to attend, to which sports might be happening close to home.
The LA28 Olympic Games are set to be the largest ever, featuring 36 sports and 51 disciplines across 49 venues in 18 zones throughout Los Angeles and Oklahoma City. The Opening Ceremony will take place on 14 July 2028, with the Closing Ceremony scheduled for 30 July 2028.
In a nod to Olympic history, the women’s triathlon at Venice Beach will open the medal tally, just as the sport did at Sydney 2000. Other schedule highlights include a historic swap between athletics and swimming, with athletics taking place in the first week and swimming in the second, meaning the final Olympic champions of LA28 will be crowned in the pool just before the Closing Ceremony.
