"Unreal."
That's how 3x3 basketball player Eva Langton describes arriving in Glasgow and becoming part of the New Zealand Team.
"It's such a cool thing to have as part of our culture. It makes us feel so connected, we just feel so welcomed, and we've created our own little home here."
For Langton, the haka and team environment is one of the highlights of the Games experience.
"There's so much love. One of the biggest reasons I play sport is that I love connecting with people, and we just have such a cool group of girls and guys. There's so much love for each other, so much care, and we just want to see each other succeed, which is just so awesome."
As New Zealand prepares to tip off its campaign, Langton says the team's focus is simple.
"The goal is always to get better every single game, keep improving, and podium – top of the podium."
On court, Langton plays as a scorer, looking to attack the basket and knock down shots from beyond the arc. With just three players on the court at a time, defence is everyone's responsibility, while off the ball she's also proud to be one of the team's biggest energy lifters, helping keep her teammates motivated throughout every game.
