NZ bowls pair down early
New Zealanders Selina Goddard and Katelyn Inch have run into early trouble in their open pairs match at the Commonwealth Games. The New Zealanders, bronze medallists at Birmingham four years ago, lost the first set to Kenya 4-2 and then fell behind early in the second set.

The wait is over. The first New Zealand athlete in action at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games takes to the green tonight, with Shannon McIlroy opening the lawn bowls competition in the Men’s Singles.
A veteran of five Commonwealth Games, McIlroy begins his campaign against Liam Hill (Tonga) in the opening round of competition.
