Nacagilevu just misses weightlifting medal
Nelson weightlifter had to settle for fourth in the women's 86kg weightlifting division after a strong challenge for a medal.

The New Zealander managed 103kg in the snatch and 122kg in the clean and jerk for a total of 225kg. This left her 5kg short of third-placed Canadian Rose Beaudoin. The event was won by Eileen Cikamatana of Australia with a Games record of 248kg.
The 18-year-old New Zealander certainly had her chances. She missed her opening snatch attempt and even after she succeeded with 103kg at the second attempt, she was unable to lift the 106kg on her final lift.
It was much the same story in the clean and jerk, where she missed here 121kg opener, siucceeded with 122kg and then failed to lift 125kg with her final attempt.
Nacagilevu, who placed ninth in the 2025 world championships, felt she was capable of more, but said: 'I’m really proud of myself, I’ve put all the work in, but unfortunately it didn’t show for me today.
'I have a saying that I always go by - I’m happy but I’m not satisfied.'
