New Zealand Open Water Swimmer Selected for Rio

The New Zealand Olympic Committee has today confirmed open-water swimmer Kane Radford to the New Zealand Olympic Team to Rio.

Radford was nominated to the New Zealand Olympic Committee last night following the successful appeal of the athlete to the New Zealand Sports Tribunal.

New Zealand Olympic Committee CEO Kereyn Smith says she wishes Radford the best for the Olympic Games. “We congratulate Kane on his selection today and look forward to seeing him compete off Rio's Copacabana coastline this August."

Radford is the only New Zealand open-water swimmer to be selected for this year’s Olympic Games and is the first in New Zealand’s Olympic history.

His selection brings the New Zealand Olympic Team to Rio to 112.
