All 156 New Zealand athletes competing in the Australian Youth Olympic Festival have arrived safely in Sydney today.
The athletes have spent the day settling into village life, meeting the locals (including one large spider and a possum) and being briefed by officials about what to expect over the next few days - including temperatures of 39C on Friday!
The AYOF's slogan is 'seeing tomorrow's Olympians today' and is the perfect chance for our athletes to experience Olympic-style competition against 1700 competitors from 30 countries.
