Kiwi athletes competing in Glasgow this month will be the first to be kitted out in the Team Footwear
The New Zealand Team has proudly announced Brooks Running as its Official Footwear Partner today, with the multi-year partnership spanning the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games through to the LA28 Olympic Summer Games.
As part of the partnership, Brooks will provide Team Footwear for the New Zealand Team marching into Opening and Closing Ceremonies, medal presentations and for the Olympic and Commonwealth Games Villages.
Kiwi athletes competing in Glasgow this month will be the first to be kitted out in the Team Footwear developed specifically for the New Zealand Team, with further updates to come ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Summer Games Opening Ceremony.
New Zealand Team Para Track Cyclist, Devon Briggs, said footwear choices have always been an important decision for him at Games time.
“I was born with club feet, so I need cushioning, arch support and a shoe that keeps my feet feeling supported. Outside of racing, there’s a lot going on in a Games setting, and having footwear that’s high quality and comfortable makes a real difference over long days. That comfort lets me focus on what matters,” said Briggs.
New Zealand Team Swimmer, Cameron Gray, said shoes can play an important role in a Games setting.
“Any Games has special moments - opening and closing ceremonies, time in the Village and hopefully standing on the podium. Before I swim, when we’re waiting in the Games’ call room, I want to feel comfortable and confident in what I’m wearing, and Brooks delivers that. If you look good, you feel good, and that helps you take in those experiences and represent the New Zealand Team with pride,” said Gray.
New Zealand Olympic Committee CEO, Nicki Nicol, said the organisation is proud to welcome Brooks as the New Zealand Team’s Official Footwear Partner.
“This partnership strengthens how our Team presents itself on the world stage, supporting athletes through the key moments that define a Games. Brooks understands the importance of quality and comfort in those environments, so this partnership will make a real difference for our New Zealand Team athletes," she said.
Brooks will elevate the New Zealand Team’s shoe game with their support extended to up-and-coming athletes representing the New Zealand Team at youth and pre-elite Games as well.
CEO of Brooks, Dan Sheridan, said it’s an honour for Brooks to partner with the New Zealand Team.
“These athletes embody the dedication, resilience, and relentless pursuit of excellence that sit at the core of our brand. We’re super proud to support the team with premium performance footwear for their biggest moments of celebration on one of sport’s biggest stages,” he said.
Head of Sports Marketing at Brooks, Garrett Heath, said:
“The New Zealand Team represents some of the most dedicated and inspiring athletes in the world, and we’re incredibly excited to support them through this new footwear partnership as they strive for greatness on the biggest global stages,” he said.
“At Brooks, we’re laser focused on providing athletes with the tools they need to show up as their best selves at Games time — whether that’s in the call room, on the podium, or during the final days of preparation in the Village.”
