It's been a huge few months for Kiwi athletes - none more so than Lydia Ko.

Fresh off her gold medal win in Paris, Ko notched up another two titles, winning the prestigious AIG Women’s Open as well as the Kroger Queen City Championship. The victory in the Open at St Andrews was Ko's third major win.

Middle distance runner Maia Ramsden has also been creating history, setting a New Zealand outddor record as she competed in the Borås Folksam GP in Sweden. Contesting the mile she finished second behind her On Athletics Club (OAC) teammate Olivia Markezich with a time of 4:24.79, breaking Christine Pfitzinger's NZ outdoor record from 1987 (4:30.50).

This result adds to Ramsden's successful Olympic debut, where she lowered her own New Zealand 1500m record to 4:02.20 in the semi-finals.

Over in Lima, Peru at the U20 World Championships Ethan Olivier claimed a gold medal in the triple jump, matching his New Zealand national and U20 record of 17.01m. The 19-year-old, who placed fourth at the 2022 World Junior Championships in Cali, Colombia, claimed the U20 World Champion title just a month after competing at the Paris Olympic Games.

After several days of racing, the Louis Vuitton Round Robin came to a close, marking a temporary pause for Emirates Team New Zealand. They secured a win against NYYC American Magic in their final race, and their next appearance will be on the highly-anticipated first race day of the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup Match on October 12th.

Unfortunately, the Emirates Team New Zealand Youth America’s Cup team, featuring Olympian Josh Armit, missed out on qualifying for the top six semifinals after four dramatic races in Barcelona.

Meanwhile, the Emirates Team New Zealand Women's America’s Cup team including Olympians Molly Meech, Jo Aleh and Erica Dawson will begin their qualification series on October 5th.

Tim Price and Vitali have also been in action, finishing second at the Defender Burghley Horse Trials last month in England, competing against what was arguably one of the strongest fields ever at the prestigious CCI5*. The Kiwi pair scored 22.3 in dressage, added just 3.2 time penalties in cross-country, and had a single rail down in show jumping, ending with a final score of 29.5.

After contributing to her team's gold medal win in Paris, Olympian Stacey Waaka (above right) has been honoured as the NRLW Winger of the Year at the NRLW Dally M Awards!
