The NZ Team and Mazbou Q release custom made soundtracks ahead of Milano Cortina 2026

17 October 2025

'I'm a Star' and 'Alive' are now available on all streaming platforms.

Milano Cortina 2026

As part of the campaign in the lead-up to the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games, the New Zealand Team have collaborated on a music project led by artist and producer Mazbou Q.

For the initiative, Mazbou Q created custom, tailor-made soundtracks for each athlete involved. Unique in both style and lyrics, the tracks fuse his signature high-energy, emotive Hip Hop sound with the personal narratives of the athletes, written from their perspectives to deliver words of motivation and empowerment.

The soundtracks are designed not only to inspire and energise the athletes as they aim for Milano Cortina 2026 but also to serve as compelling storytelling tools.

Joining the project are acclaimed New Zealand guitarist Sam Smith-Nakamura (TOI, Teeks, Troy Kingi), rising Afro-Caribbean neo-soul artist ASHA.

The first track 'I'm a Star (feat. ASHA) created for free-skier Ruby Star Andrews is out NOW - click here to listen.

The second track 'Alive' created for free-skier Ben Harrington OLY 1532 is also now available on all streaming platforms. Click here to listen
