Three into men's scratch race final
New Zealand had a quiet session at the velodrome with all three men's scratch riders qualifying for the final and sprinter Sam Dakin failing to progress in his event.

All three New Zealanders, George Jackson, Keegan Hornblow and Marshall Erwood, advanced to the final of the men's scratch race. The men were happy enough to have a bit of a blowout but there was no real pressure because virtually anyone who finished the heats qualified.
Sam Dakin missed a spot in the sprint quarter-finals. Needing a top 16 finish in the qualifying round, Dakin was timed at 10.204, which was 20th fastest among the 29 starters. The fastest qualifier was Australia's Leigh Hoffman with 9.361s.
