With only four lifters in the group it was a quick turnaround to the clean and jerks and Liti was unable to complete a lift.
“The heat and the quick turnaround just hit me hard and I just couldn’t quite put a lift together,” said Liti.
“It was my first time bombing and this was my most important competition of the year so it sucks that it had to happen the way it did but we’ve got the worlds in Thailand in nine weeks and I’m hoping to come back nice and strong.”
Earlier in the day Andy Barakauskas placed 6th in the men’s U109kg group.
