SKY Sport has secured the rights for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games . The Games will be held from October 7-19 with the participation of around four thousand athletes from 206 countries.
New Zealand is sending a team of 61 athletes under team Chef de Mission Barbara Kendall.
SKY Sport’s coverage will include a dedicated 24/7 Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 Pop-up channel that will be produced by the International Olympic Committee. SKY Sport will also have presenter Courtney Tairi on the ground in Buenos Aires to present a daily Kiwi focused Youth Olympic Games highlights show featuring interviews with New Zealand athletes and highlights from key events.
Prime will have free-to-air coverage of the daily highlights show for the duration of the event. Highlights clips will be available on the SKY Sport Highlights app.
NZOC CEO Kereyn Smith says it’s great that New Zealanders will be able to watch the team compete.

“The events will be exciting and highly competitive, with the Youth Olympic Games providing a great way to see New Zealand’s future sporting stars in action.”
SKY Director of Sport, Richard Last says that securing the Youth Olympic Games and events like these are part of SKY’s overall strategy to provide something for every sports fan 365 days a year.
“A huge amount of sacrifice, blood, sweat and tears have been made by these athletes and their families to get them to this level and we are extremely proud to be delivering coverage of their efforts at the Youth Olympic Games to New Zealanders across the country. For a lot of these athletes it will be their first time competing at this level and we would like to wish all of the New Zealand athletes in action, all the very best of luck in Buenos Aires, we can’t wait to cheer you on!
