Alex Kennedy

Biography
Rio 2016 was Alex's first Olympic Games having qualified the eight for Rio at the 2015 World Rowing Championships in Aiguebelette where the crew finished in fourth place.
In 2013 and 2014 Alex was an U23 World Champion in the men's eight.
Alex was born in Rangiora and began rowing at Rangiora High School after following two of his older siblings into the sport.
Alex now represents Te Awamutu Rowing Club and is coached by New Zealand men's eight coach, Noel Donaldson.
Outside of rowing Alex is studying journalism at university.
