Biography

The Rio 2016 Olympic Games were Alistair's first Olympic Games. Alistair was part of the 2015 World Championship crew that finished fourth and in doing so qualified the lightweight men's four for Rio, an historic occasion as it is the first time a New Zealand lightweight four have qualified in this event for the Olympic Games.

Alistair was part of the New Zealand lightweight four that were world silver medallists in 2014, stepping into the crew at the last minute for the injured James Lassche.

Alistair was born in Dunedin and is a member of Otago University Rowing Club. Alistair is the younger brother of Hamish Bond.

Outside of rowing Alistair works casually as a qualified surveyor and also enjoys cycling and basketball.
