Biography

Beau-James Wells is a talented freeskier who competed at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games and the Innsbruck 2012 Olympic Youth Winter Games.

Wells placed 4th in the halfpipe at Innsbruck and 6th in the same event at Sochi.

The Wanaka local began skiing when he was three years old and has followed in his elder brothers' footsteps to become a professional freeskier.

Wells very quickly made his mark on the international circuit with the 4th placing at the Youth Olympic Games in 2012, followed by a 16th placing at the AFP World Championships and seventh in the Freeski Open of New Zealand. During the 2012-2013 Northern Hemisphere season he placed eighth in slopestyle at the World Championships in Norway and fifth in the men's halfpipe finals at Dew Tour's iON Mountain Championships in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Wells’ hobbies outside of freeskiing include skateboarding and filming skateboarding videos.
