EVENTS: Women's 100m Freestyle S9

Dame Sophie Pascoe is New Zealand's most decorated Paralympian with a staggering twenty medals to her name.

At Commonwealth Games level, Dame Sophie has won five gold medals, two at Glasgow 2014, two at Gold Coast 2018 and one at Birmingham 2022.

Dame Sophie was the New Zealand Team flagbearer at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, the position acknowledging her elite performances and inspiration as a multi-Commonwealth, Paralympic and World Championship medal winning athlete.

She was appointed a Dame in the 2022 New Year's Honours for her services to swimming. She is the youngest person to be awarded the title.
