Biography

25 year old New Zealand professional golfer, ranked 40th in the world.

Born in Incheon, South Korea, Danny and his family moved to New Zealand when he was eight where he went on to attend Rotorua Boys High School and was a member of Springfield Golf Club.

He turned professional in April 2009 after a successful career as an amateur.  He held the world number one amateur ranking from August 2008 until he turned pro after becoming the youngest winner of the US Amateur in August 2008 at 18 years of age, and the Johnnie Walker Classic on the European Tour as an amateur in February 2009.

Since turning professional he has played a mixture of the Web.com Tour, European Tour and the PGA Tour.

His first win on the PGA Tour came in July last year where he won the Greenbrier Classic and also recorded five top five placings to finish 9th on the FedEx Cup standings.

Rio 2016 was the first Olympic Games for Danny Lee.
