Biography

2016 Rio Olympic Games was Darcina's first Olympic appearance competing in the -57 kg division. Darcina beat Zeabludina of Russia in the elimination rounds to take the win.  Qualifying through to the Round of 16, Darcina lost her next match to Monteiro of Portugual whom went on to win the bronze medal. Darcina's final result was 9th place.

Darcina was a key member of the New Zealand judo team at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games where she won a bronze medal.

Born and raised in Gisborne, Darcina shifted to Perth when she was 14 years of age and has been training and competing as a judoka for 16 years.
