Biography

EVENT: Athletics, Men's Triple Jump

Teenage triple jumper Ethan Olivier competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after enjoying an exciting improvement over the past few seasons.

Auckland-born Olivier first made his mark on the international stage when placing fourth in the men’s triple jump at the 2022 World U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia.

In 2023, he maintained his upwardly mobile progress when bettering the New Zealand triple jump record of his elder brother, Welre, with a 16.67m leap in Brussels.

in 2024 he set two New Zealand resident records with a best of 16.62m enroute to claiming the national senior title in Wellington.

Based in South Africa, he is coached by his father, Wikus, a former Commonwealth Games triple jump representative for South Africa.
