Kirsty Yallop

New Zealand Olympian: 1111

Biography

Kirsty is NZ's sixth player to reach the 100-cap milestone and this memorable moment happened at Rio 2016.

She is one of the elder stateswoman of a youthful squad and made her debut back in 2004 - earlier than any other member of the group. She was one of several promising players to emerge from the Lynn-Avon United club around that period - team mate Ria Percival and former captain Hayley Bowden were others - and Kirsty is now settled in Sweden.

She featured heavily in each of New Zealand's previous appearances at the Olympics, scoring in the 2-2 draw with Japan in the opening match of Beijing 2008 and going on to play every minute of the campaign before also appearing in each game at London 2012.

Like a handful of others in the squad, she is a veteran of two FIFA Women's World Cups.
