Liam Richards

Liam was born in Zurich, Switzerland and skied with his parents in Flims, Laax for the first time when he was two years old. Liam lived in Switzerland for four years and took regular ski school lessons to continue learning to ski.

Snow Planet in Auckland is where Liam got into freestyle skiing. He went skiing there, saw the park and was keen to try it out. He started following his big brother around and hitting the jumps and skiing over the boxes with him. 

He was recognised by the Snow Sports NZ National Development programme and in 2019 went overseas to Colorado to train and compete.

Liam will compete in freeski halfpipe at Gangwon 2024.
