Biography

EVENT: Judo: Women's -78kg

Moira Koster is New Zealand's most experienced and successful female judoka. She competed in the London 2012 Olympic Games in the under 70kg category placing 17th. She again placed 17th at Paris 2024.

In 2014 she competed in the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games where she won the silver medal.

Eight years later, Koster returned to competitive judo in the Under 78kg category. She competed at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and won the bronze medal.

She is a two-time Commonwealth Games medallist and has won a bronze medal at a World Cup and gold, three silver and six bronze medals at Continental Opens.
