Biography

Nikki has competed at two Commonwealth Games and three IAAF World Championships; Rio was her first Olympic Games.

A double silver medallist at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games, Nikki has since struggled with an injury, keeping her out of the London Olympics, but she has bounced back and ran in the 5000m at the Beijing 2015 World Championships.

Nikki has qualified with a fast 4:05.03 1500m race at the Beijing World Challenge meeting earlier last year, just outside her New Zealand record of 4:04.82 set in 2011.

Nikki, originally from Dorchester, England, moved to New Zealand in 2006 and gained NZ citizenship in 2009. She lives in Cambridge and runs for Cambridge Athletic and Harrier Club.  She is coached by Athletics NZ High Performance Programme coach Steve Willis.

During the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Nikki was awarded the International Fair Play Committee Award nominated for her demonstration of the Olympic Spirit
