Simon is currently the Principal of Tahuna Normal Intermediate School in Dunedin. He has been involved in the education sector as a teacher, Deputy Principal and Principal at Primary and Intermediate levels. He has a long history of being involved in Intermediates and is passionate about working with this age group. He has played, coached and been involved in governance in the Dunedin basketball community, including the Otago Nuggets. He is also a keen skier and has a great interest in the Winter Olympic Games.

Kylie is currently a senior lecturer at AUT and has previously lectured at the University of Waikato and at Unitec. Kylie undertakes research in the fields of Health & Physical Education, pedagogy, social and emotional learning and citizenship education. She has held previous curriculum and assessment advisory roles including NZQA national moderator and Physical Education New Zealand subject advisor. Before coming to AUT, Kylie taught health, physical education and outdoor education in secondary schools and then worked as a lecturer in initial teacher education.
Leanne is an Olympian (#859), captaining the New Zealand women's basketball team in both Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. Leanne was also an NZOC Women in Sport Leadership Graduate in 2020. She has also represented New Zealand in Touch Rugby. Leanne’s work in these two sports has been recognised with the Senior Māori Sportswoman award, presented to her at the Trillian Trust Māori Sports Awards for her outstanding contribution to Māori Sport. Leanne has also coached Basketball at National level including NZ U18 women, NZ senior women’s 3x3 and she has been part of the Tall Ferns coaching staff since 2021. Leanne currently teaches at St Peters in Cambridge.

Angela is currently the Foundation Deputy Principal at Ngākōroa School in Karaka, Auckland having previously been the Deputy Principal at Mangere East Primary School and Team Leader at Mangere Central School. She is passionate about learning and championing Te Reo Māori every day and believes learning should be fun and authentic and in partnership with students, staff, whānau, iwi, and the wider community. When not leading at school, you will most likely find her spending time with her whānau or cheering for her kids on the side lines of a rugby field.

Roger is currently the Rangatahi Lead at Sport NZ and provides a great link between the NZOC and Sport NZ in terms of both sport and education initiatives that are operating in New Zealand. He brings experience in community sport, recreation and young people to the Commission.

Richie was the first weightlifter to represent New Zealand at four Commonwealth Games and has been competing in weightlifting for over 20 years. Richie has represented NZ at three Olympic Games 2008-2016 and four Commonwealth Games 2006-2018. He is the Chair of the NZOC Athlete’s Commission and is an experienced Olympic Ambassador visiting schools throughout New Zealand. He provides guidance to help increase the impact of athletes as leaders and role models to inspire the next generation of kiwis.
