Strong Performance from NZ Weightlifters at 2025 Commonwealth Championships

A 19-strong team of New Zealand weightlifters delivered an impressive showing at the 2025 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.

The team, comprising of seven men and twelve women across 11 weight classes achieved great results at the combined Youth, Junior and Senior Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships held in Ahmedabad, India.

This competition served as a key stepping-stone toward the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

  • Anika Falasia – Gold, Youth +77 kg; Bronze, Junior +86 kg

  • Sienna Fesolai – Silver, Junior 69 kg

  • Litia Nacagilevu – Gold, Junior 86 kg; Silver, Senior 86 kg

  • Isyss Schuster – Gold, Junior +110 kg

  • Madeleine Agnew – Bronze, Junior 69 kg

  • Drew Burrett – Bronze, Junior 86 kg

  • Georgia Theron – Bronze, Junior 77 kg; placed 4th in Senior division

Senior Category:
