Corney Swanepoel

Biography

Attending his second Olympic Games, Swanepoel was 12th in the 100m butterfly at Athens. He broke the NZ record for the 100m butterfly at the Olympic Trials and holds the 50m butterfly record. The South African born swimmer first represented New Zealand at the 2003 Youth Olympics where he won gold and the world championships that year. He was a semifinalist for the 100m butterfly at World Championships last year.
