David Gould

Born in Christchurch, David was a member of the Avon Rowing club. In his early days in paired with his younger brother Humphrey and later went on to win the Coxless Pair at the New Zealand National Rowing Championships in 1948.  The pair were coached by Rangi Thompson.

Both David and Humphrey were selected for the Coxless Pair to represent New Zealand at the Auckland 1950 Commonwealth Games winning a silver medal on Lake Karapiro.
