New Zealand Olympian: 1460
New Zealand Olympian: 1460
Hayley McIntosh will compete for her first Olympics this year at Tokyo 2020.
The last time Hayley was on the world stage was when she competed at 2018 FINA World Championship (25m). Hayley competed in the 800m Freestyle distance.
Hayley had focused on the 800/1500m Freestyle until the end of 2017, when she switched her focus to the 10km marathon distance. Since returning her focus back to the 1500m, her performance has improved, and she qualified for the event at the last Olympic trial event in May.
A Sport & Recreation student at Auckland University of Technology part time, Hayley is also a qualified swim instructor and has been teaching since 2018. After completing her studies and making the Olympic Games, Hayley’s dream job is to be an outdoor instructor at OPC or outward bound.
