Julianne Alvarez

16-year-old Julianne will be representing New Zealand in Golf at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games. Julianne attends Sacred Heart College in Lower Hutt and is a member of the Manor Park Golf Club. Her hobbies include playing golf, reading and playing the guitar and piano. Julianne began playing golf at age seven and, so far, her sporting highlight is winning the New Zealand Amateur Championship. Her role models are Adam Scott and Rory McIlroy and her favourite quote is, “A bird sitting on a branch is not afraid of it breaking because its trust is not in the branch, but on its own wings.”
