Mischa Thomas

Biography

Mischa’s parents taught her to ski when she was three years old at Mt Ruapehu.

In 2020 Mischa decided to focus on freestyle skiing. At the beginning of 2020 Mischa went overseas with her parents and her brother to Copper Mountain, Colorado and spent a lot of time skiing in the terrain park. When she returned to NZ she came down to Wanaka for the winter trained with the Cardrona High Performance Centre.

At the start of 2022 Mischa went to LAAX with her coach to train at the world class terrain park there. On returning to New Zealand for the 2022 winter she was talent ID’d by Snow Sports NZ and has been training with the Snow Sports NZ National Development Team.

In 2023 Mischa was named to the team to represent New Zealand at the 2023 FIS Park and Pipe Junior World Championships held at Cardrona Alpine Resort. Mischa claimed the bronze medal in Freeski Slopestyle in the heavily stacked field, a goal of hers.

Mischa will compete in freeski slopestyle and big air at Gangwon 2024.
