Biography

Robin Cheong is a Korean born New Zealander with a string of Taekwondo medals to her name. She was ranked 16th in the World Taekwondo Championships in 2007 and won Gold that same year in the Beijing Olympic Selection competition – a feat that had also been achieved the previous year.

While living in New Zealand from the age of seven, Robin returned to Korea at fifteen to pursue Taekwondo at a prestigious Korean sports college. She secured Gold in the High School Championships, Team National Championships and the New Zealand National Championships in 2005.
She was ranked 16th in the World Taekwondo Championships in 2007 and won Gold that same year in the Beijing Olympic Selection competition – a feat that had also been achieved the previous year. Beijing 2008 is Robin's first Olympic Games.
