Biography

EVENT: Cycling – Men’s Mountain Bike Cross Country

Sam Gaze is a three-time Commonwealth Games medallist, having won gold at Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022, as well as silver at Glasgow 2014.

In Birmingham Gaze dominated the race from start to finish to win gold by a huge margin. Four years earlier on the Gold Coast Gaze produced a massive burst after a puncture on the final lap to win gold over teammate Anton Cooper.

On Olympic debut at Paris 2024, Gaze placed an impressive 6th.

Gaze is one of the sport's most exciting riders, winning UCI MTB World Championship titles in short track and marathon in 2023. Gaze is based in Andorra, alongside his partner and performance team.
