Shelly Gotlieb

Biography

Shelly is one of New Zealand’s most respected snowboarders and competes in the snowboard slopestyle discipline. Definitely not one to blow her own trumpet, Shelly has achieved an impressive list of results at some of the world’s most prestigious events including the X Games, US Open, and World Snowboarding Championships.

In 2010 she became the first New Zealander ever to be invited to the slopestyle discipline at the X Games and in 2011 she won a bronze medal at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships in slopestyle. Shelly is currently ranked 19th in the world in women’s snowboard slopestyle.

Shelly is looking forward to the Winter Olympic Games as “an exciting new experience” and is hopeful that she can bring home an Olympic medal.

Originally from Ohakune, Shelly now spends much of the Southern Hemisphere winter in Wanaka and Queenstown. Her interests include good food, travel and spending time with friends.
