Stefi Luxton

New Zealand Olympian: 1238

Biography

Growing up in Wanaka and with the mountains on her doorstep, Stefi’s love for snow sports began on skis. At the age of 14 she tried out skateboarding for the first time and soon afterwards transferred her new skills to snowboarding.

Stefi hasn’t looked back since then and has been competing as a snowboard slopestyle athlete on the international circuit for several years. She is currently ranked 21st in the world in women’s snowboard slopestyle. Career highlights to date include third place at the Canadian Open in 2012, seventh at the Billabong Bro Down in 2012 and ninth at the US Open in 2012.

Competing at the Winter Olympic Games will generate a lifelong memory says Stefi. She is proud to be competing for New Zealand and for her family who have supported her on her Olympic pathway. Her aim for Sochi is to achieve a career-best result.

Aside from snow sports Stefi also loves to surf and still skateboards whenever she can. She enjoys camping, hiking, biking, tennis and travel.
