The Olympic Games have officially been handed over to Karen Bass, Mayor of Los Angeles, ahead of the LA 2028 Games.

Kiwi tennis star Marcus Daniell is one of four who have officially been welcomed onto the IOC Athletes' Commission. Daniell joins Allyson Felix (USA, Athletics), Kim Bui (GER, Gymnastics) and Jessica Fox (AUS, Canoe).
Eight-time Olympic champion Dame Lisa Carrington and gold medalist Finn Butcher will carry the New Zealand flag in tonight’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony.
The pair were formally announced as Ngā Pou Hapai (flag bearers) by Chef de Mission Nigel Avery in front of teammates in the Olympic Village this afternoon local time.

Ellesse Andrews has obliterated the competition in the Women's Sprint, winning the gold medal over Lea Friedrich of Germany in two straight races.
It's the first ever Olympic medal for a New Zealand woman in an individual sprint cycling event, and Ellesse's third medal here in Paris!
Ally Wollaston put together a great day of racing and finished strongly in the points race to secure the Omnium bronze medal.

Camille French has crossed the line in the Women's Marathon, finishing 60th in a large field in a time of 2:37:21.
Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands won the gold medal, Tigst Assefa (ETH) silver and Hellen Obiri (KEN) bronze.

As the sun rises in Paris on the final day of an amazing Olympic Games, we still have plenty of action for the Kiwis with Camille French in the Women's Marathon and the Kiwis getting their pedals screaming at the velodrome.
